Puccini & Pinetti feeds your appetite for fun, spirits and extremely good food. Everyone's invited to taste the good life with Puccini & Pinetti's Cali-Italian cuisine. Locals can't get enough of the gluten-free and dairy-free dishes at the energetic, yet casual atmosphere. You're always perfectly dressed for the Union Square's lively, approachable and welcoming modern Italian grill, Puccini & Pinetti.
Puccini & Pinetti stopped Union Squares' shortage for delicious and reasonably priced meals a long time ago. Local restaurant goers visit daily for delicious and affordable sit-down and grab-and-go options, while working, shopping or on their way to the theatre. If you're close to Moscone, Civic Center, BART, Macy's or Market Street then swing in for breakfast, lunch or dinner and taste a wood-fired oven pizza, a hefty pasta dish, the Working Lunch or any of the famous appetizers.
Just consider yourself warned. As San Francisco-ians will tell you: if you need a quiet, romantic restaurant to whisper sweet nothings in your loved ones ear over dinner - this isn't it. We're more of the celebratory, sexy type. And if that sounds fun to you, it's because it is.
Ray Manning, General Manager
When you step into Puccini & Pinetti, chances are, you'll run into Ray Manning. Manning is the energetic, hard-working and infectious type that will strike up a conversation with you as if you'd been friends for years.
While his niche is restaurant operations, his passion for work, life and travel is shown in his vast experience and rise to general manager at a remarkably young age. Manning grew up in northern New Jersey and began his endeavors at Cornell University studying hospitality management. During college, when he wasn't traveling the world, he was in restaurants learning the ins-and-outs from "being in back-house and drowning in tickets," he says, "to a restaurant MIT program with T.G.I Friday's."
But it wasn't there that he realized the restaurant life was for him, it was years prior on a family cruise to the Caribbean that he came across exciting unfamiliar foods, 24-hour dining and just how thrilling restaurant and hospitality could be. Manning has been a part of many restaurants coast-to-coast since beginning with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2007. His outgoing "sign me up" attitude has led him to restaurants like the Grand Café, Jackson 20, Poste Brasserie and his return to Puccini & Pinetti from floor manager to GM.
On his downtime you'll find this anti-commuter on foot, walking the streets of San Francisco attending concerts, music festivals, running marathons or in the company of friends and family with a Negroni in-hand.
P and P's staff is the largest group of foodies in the world. Well, okay, at least in Union Square.
